Monday represented the largest staffing day yet for Encore Boston Harbor, with approximately 4,800 employees arriving at the resort site to begin work, while current staff and leadership relocated from Station Landing offices to the tower at the new facility.
Following extensive job fairs, recruitment interviews, planning sessions and preparation programs, the $2.2 billion resort welcomed its full complement of roughly 4,800 active employees on Monday, June 3, marking the official start of operations ahead of the June 23 opening date.
The same day saw existing personnel and executive leadership vacate their longtime offices at Station Landing and establish themselves in the resort tower offices.
From shuttle operators to table game dealers to food service workers to Encore President Bob DeSalvio, virtually every staff member with assigned duties at Encore was present on the property Monday.
“On Monday, we were able to move into the
resort,” said President Bob DeSalvio. “We now have 4,800 incredibly
excited and enthusiastic employees preparing to receive our guests. This
is truly a magical time in the building, as employees embark on new careers
that positively impact not only their lives but also their families. I’m seeing
a lot of smiling faces this week.”
Over recent weeks, employees have been acclimating to their positions through training conducted at off-site conference facilities and Boston-area function spaces. Monday provided the first opportunity for them to complete training directly at the resort, including receiving uniforms through the advanced clothing distribution system.
According to Encore representatives, 4,800 employees have been hired to date, though recruitment efforts continue.
An additional 700 job offers remain outstanding, and the company plans to hire approximately 300 more workers. This includes positions for dealers and various other roles across the organization.
