Tuesday morning brought a 3-alarm fire to the intersection of Library and Marlboro Streets. The situation could have proven far more devastating had the Chelsea Fire Department not mobilized so swiftly and acted with such professionalism. Without their quick intervention, the destruction could have claimed numerous additional structures on what was an exceptionally cold and windy day. The support provided by surrounding municipalities was equally significant. The scene was equipped with sufficient apparatus and personnel—enough to combat a 6 alarm fire. Fortunately, despite the residents who lost their homes in these blazes, no injuries occurred. We extend our appreciation to the firefighters and all those who worked to ease the hardship faced by our residents during this crisis.
