Joyce M. Simeone, who lived in Everett for many years before moving to Hampstead, New Hampshire, with her longtime partner, John O’Donnell, died October 23 with family and friends around her. She was 76.
She and John were together for more than 20 years. Her family remembers her as funny and blunt, the person everyone went to for advice and an honest opinion, which she always gave. She spent winters in Florida, went to Aruba every year and loved trips to places like Hawaii. She played dominoes and mahjong, liked a little gambling, and loved concerts, the theater and music, especially Queen. She never let anyone forget that she saw the Beatles play when she was a teenager.
Her closest friends called their group the “5H,” for Five Hearts, and thought of one another as heart sisters and as family. She doted on her five great-nieces and great-nephews, Isabelle, Beau, Gabby, Millie and Harry, and loved spoiling them and being part of their lives.
Along with John, survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Gerard and Lori Pelletier; a niece, Jennifer Pelletier Brissette, with her husband, Marc; and a nephew, Mark Pelletier, with his wife, Jennifer. She was predeceased by her sister, Jeanne, and by Eugene and Geraldine Pelletier, her parents.
Visitation is Wednesday, October 28, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, 65 Clark St., Everett, followed by a funeral service at 11:30. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery in Everett. The family suggests donations to Gift of Life in her memory.
