Louis N. Shapiro, a Chelsea resident who passed away on November 23 at Massachusetts General Hospital, was 85. Born and raised in Chelsea, where he attended local schools through high school, Shapiro was a World War II veteran of the US Army. His professional life centered on owning a night club, and he was known for his culinary expertise as a gourmet chef. Travel was among his passions. He is survived by his fiancé, Levester Millsap, along with her children and grandchildren. His nieces and nephews include Lorraine Kushner, Janis Shapiro, Diane Groton, Iris, and Sherry. A service is scheduled for today, Wednesday, November 25 at 1 p.m. at the Torf Funeral Chapel, located at 151 Washington Ave., Cary Sq., Chelsea.
