The Chelsea school system, along with Superintendent of Schools Dr. Mary Bourque and Chelsea High Principal Joseph Mullaney, merits recognition for earning the College Board’s 2012 AP District Honor Roll Award.
Chelsea High received this honor in recognition of the access its school and faculty have extended to students pursuing Advanced Placement (AP) coursework.
The award acknowledges not only the district’s commitment to expanding access to these rigorous academic offerings but also its success in maintaining or improving student performance on Advanced Placement exams.
Students at Chelsea High benefit from 13 AP classes, providing opportunities to demonstrate academic excellence and dedication in the school’s most demanding courses.
The CHS faculty deserves recognition for establishing the academic framework that enables students to advance and perform well on AP exams.
Every day, the high school’s administrators and teachers work to deliver the strongest possible academic preparation, equipping students to compete effectively for admission to top-tier colleges and universities.
Next week, College Board representatives will visit Chelsea to formally present this prestigious award to Dr. Bourque, Mr. Mullaney, and the high school. This recognition represents yet another achievement for a school system that continues to develop and flourish under Dr. Bourque’s leadership and the guidance of the Chelsea School Committee.
