
A 22-year-old Everett resident has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on Blossom Street in Chelsea on Tuesday evening.
Jonathan Castro Sala faces murder charges stemming from the homicide of a man in his 20s. He was scheduled to appear in Chelsea District Court on Wednesday for arraignment. The victim’s identity has been tentatively established but is not being disclosed at this time.
Responding to reports of a shooting near 52 Blossom St. at approximately 9 p.m. Tuesday, Chelsea Police detectives and State Police homicide investigators from Conley’s office arrived at the scene. Following witness statements, examination of physical evidence, and investigative work conducted through the night, prosecutors authorized Sala’s arrest on Wednesday morning.
The State Police Detective Unit of Suffolk County maintains investigative jurisdiction over fatalities occurring in Chelsea, Revere, Winthrop, and State property in Boston. The State Police Crime Scene Services Section and troopers from the Revere barracks provided support during the investigation.
