On Tuesday (June 25), Chelsea residents will head to the polls to cast their votes in the U.S. Senate special election.
The race features two candidates competing for the Senate seat: Congressman Edward J. Markey of Malden, a House member for 37 years, and Garrett Gomez of Cohasset.
The victor will assume the Senate position vacated by John Kerry, who departed to serve as Secretary of State. “Mo” Cowan has been filling the role as interim U.S. Senator in the interim.
The Bay State’s other U.S. Senator is Elizabeth Warren, who won election to that office last November.
