Warren R. Manning Sr., a retired employee of the City of Chelsea, passed away on January 6 after a prolonged and brave illness. He had reached the age of 76. Born in Somerville, he maintained his residence in Chelsea throughout his life, with the exception of a brief period spent in Revere. A Korean Conflict veteran of the US Air Force, he was educated at St. Rose Elementary School and completed his secondary education at Don Bosco High Technical School in Boston. Throughout his working years, he held several positions, though the majority of his career was spent with the City of Chelsea, where he served in the maintenance department at City Hall. He possessed considerable skill in his trades. His first wife was the late Elfriede (Maier) Manning. He leaves behind his son Warren R. Manning Jr. of Chelsea, his daughter Diane Manning of Salem, and the memory of his late son Robert F. Manning. He was the devoted partner of Kathleen Brennan of Chelsea. A granddaughter also survives him. The Frank A. Welsh and Sons Funeral Home oversaw all funeral arrangements. His final resting place is Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
