Charles P. “Chuck” Wilson, a longtime Chelsea resident, died on Thursday, February 18th at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Worcester following an extended illness. He was 43. Wilson was a Chelsea High School graduate who spent his formative years in the town. His career included work as a tow truck operator and a position with Chelsea 911 Operations. He also gave his time as a volunteer at the Malden Emergency Center, where he provided support services to professional firefighters. Permanent disability several years ago led to his retirement from work. Though he had lived in Chelsea his entire life, he had relocated to Worcester only three months prior to his death.
Wilson is survived by his mother, Marilyn (Mace) Wilson, and his father, the late Chelsea Police Chief Charles H. Wilson Jr. His siblings include Kathy Stewart of Salem, NH; Gail Wise and her husband, Donald, of Malden; and Sandy Cravines and her husband, Ted, of Saugus. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews Christopher Stewart, Julie Stewart and Brian Wise.
A Funeral Mass took place at St. Rose Church on Monday, with interment following at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
