The new T.J. Maxx store in the Demoulas’s Mall is ready for its grand opening on Sunday, March 27 at 8 a.m. Chelsea residents will have access to the brand new retail location when doors open that morning. To celebrate the Oepning Day, T.J. Maxx is providing shoppers with exceptional discounts. Young men’s graphic t-shirts are priced at $9.99 versus $20 at competing retailers. Girls’s top and bottom sets range from $12.99 to $14.99 compared with $24-$30 elsewhere. Ladies dresses are available for $19.99 rather than the typical $34 price tag. The store’s arrival has generated nearly 100 jobs for the local community. City Manager Jay Ash expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming launch. “T.J. Maxx coming to Chelsea is a very welcomed addition to our business family and helps to strengthen the exciting rebirth of the Mystic Mall property. I’ve been hearing for years since Bradlees closed that local residents wanted a local place to shop for all of their clothing needs. We couldn’t ask for a better place than to provide for those needs than T.J. Maxx,” he said. Among major retailers in the city, T.J. Maxx joins Home Depot and Marketbasket in significant commercial presence. Sunday’s opening marks the beginning of this new chapter for Chelsea.
