Coach Ted Freeley’s Chelsea High Lady Red Devils softball squad has faced challenges following their 21-9 season-opening victory against Lynn Tech, yet the team continues to develop as play progresses. “We have a young team,” Freeley noted, pointing to his roster that features five sophomores and one freshman among the starters, complemented by seniors Erin Kelley (primary pitcher), Danielle Smith (catcher), and Katherine Pacas (third base). “We knew this would be a learning experience for many members of the team.” Rounding out the CHS infield are freshman Kiana Binford at shortstop, sophomore Darcy Smith at second base, and sophomore Anisa Santiago at first base. Tomorrow’s matchup against Lynn Tech will give Freeley and his team a chance to replicate their impressive opening-day performance.
