At the Eastern Mass. Division II Meet, held last weekend at Bridgewater State College, Chelsea High track star Norbert Simon took part in the 200 meter dash. He advanced to the finals, where he clocked in at 23.83 seconds, securing a medal and earning a point for Chelsea. The scoring system used in the event is 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1. In addition to his performance in the dash, Simon competed in the long jump, achieving a distance of 18′ 10″, just four inches short of a medal. Next Monday and Tuesday, the Red Devil track team will be in action at Burlington High School for the decathlon, with Simon joined by Santos Hernandez, Joseph Arroyo, Hector Mendoza, Juan Achar, and Walter Cortez.
