Rudolph DiPasquale
Mass. Turnpike Authority Retiree, Member of Beachmont VFW
Rudolph J. DiPasquale, who spent his entire life in Beachmont, passed away on February 4 at New England Baptist Hospital at the age of 86.
Mr. DiPasquale served as a Corporal in the 43rd Airborne during World War II as a US Army veteran. Following his military service, he worked for the Mass Turnpike Authority until his retirement in 1992. He was an active member of the Beachmont VFW.
Born to the late Dominic and Angelina (Gudice), he is survived by his wife of 39 years, Audrey (Perry), as well as his brother Adam DiPasquale (Ret RPD) and Adam’s companion, Elizabeth Roy of Revere. His brothers Arthur, Angelo, and Orlando preceded him in death. He leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will take place on Saturday, February 8 at 10 a.m. at the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home, 128 Revere St., Revere. Arthur Benton
Retired Painter, Golf Enthusiast and American Legion Member
Arthur C. Benton, a longtime Chelsea resident, died on February 2 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He was 87.
Born in Chelsea to the late Arthur C. and Mary “Vina” (Gallant) Benton, he completed his education at Chelsea schools before joining the US Army. His honorable discharge came in 1946.
Throughout his career, Arthur worked as a painter. Golf was a favorite pastime, and he held membership in the American Legion. Those who knew him cherished his kindness and his ability to befriend everyone he encountered.
He is survived by his sister Helen Barnes and her husband, Neil of Chelsea, as well as brothers-in-law Elder and the late Kathleen Benton and sister-in-law Elaine. His siblings James, Robert, John Benton and Jean Allen Gillis predeceased him. Many nieces and nephews also survive him.
Services will be held Friday, February 7 at 9 a.m. from the Frank A. Welsh & Sons Funeral Home, 718 Broadway, Chelsea, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Chapel, 91 Crest Ave, Chelsea. Visiting hours at the Welsh Funeral Home are Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are warmly invited.
