Starting in April, MassDOT has announced that steel preservation and repair work, along with painting operations, will resume on the Tobin Bridge.
During the initial phase, drivers should expect daily lane closures on both the upper and lower decks during off-peak hours.
Within roughly two weeks—weather dependent—permanent lane restrictions will be implemented to establish the work site.
Like the previous two years, these restrictions will remain through fall 2014.
The project represents the final year of a three-year, $44.8 million bridge preservation initiative.
