The Apollinaire Theatre Company is presenting the U.S. premiere of this darkly comic and striking play exploring first love, adolescent desire, and the nature versus nurture question.
Beginning April 13, Chelsea’s Apollinaire Theatre will launch a U.S. premiere production of ‘First Love is the Revolution’.
The story centers on Rdeca, a young fox determined to push limits, whose inquisitiveness leads her into a crude snare constructed by the solitary 14-year-old Basti. Their encounter ignites an intense and perilous connection that rapidly escalates.
Hayley Spivey takes on the role of Rdeca, the young fox. Spivey recently performed in SpeakEasy Stage’s Men on Boats and Lyric Stage Company’s Orlando. A Boston University graduate with a BFA in Theatre Arts, she shares the stage with established Apollinaire performers Armando Rivera (Thoreau) and Dale J. Young (Gregor Mole), both recently featured in Everyman, alongside fresh faces to the company including Bridgette Hayes and Khloe Alice Lin, who round out the fox family.
First Love is the Revolution runs April 13-May 5, 2018, with performances scheduled Fri. & Sat. at 8:00, Thurs. April 26 & May 3 at 8:00, and Sun. April 22 & 29 at 3:00.
All performances take place at Chelsea Theatre Works, 189 Winnisimmet St., Chelsea, MA.
