John J. “Jack” Connors Jr., 88, Member of the Chelsea Board of Registrars

John J. Connors Jr., known to everyone as Jack, died unexpectedly at his home on August 5, 2026. He was 88.

He was born on July 21, 1938 in Boston and raised in Revere, the son of the late John J. Connors Sr. and Catherine (James) Connors.

He married Delia Joan Mallet, and they were married 56 years before her death in 2017. They raised three children.

After early work at Revere Sugar and at Meyers Bros. Parking in Boston, he became a metal finisher and polisher at Market Forge, where he spent many years working on the stainless steel used in hospitals and restaurants.

He stayed involved in Chelsea after he retired. He was a current member of the Chelsea Board of Registrars, played bocce with the Chelsea Senior Center, and met friends most mornings for coffee at the local Market Basket. He followed the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics and Bruins, and also the Indiana Fever.

He is survived by his children Paulette Velastegui, Juliann Boesch and Robert Connors, his daughter-in-law Deborah Connors, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours were held at the Welsh Funeral Home in Chelsea on August 12, with a funeral the following day and a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Grace Church. He was buried beside his wife at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
