Patricia A. (Gandolfo) Krueger, who was born and raised in Chelsea, graduated from St. Rose High School, raised three children in Revere over 40 years and retired as a licensing supervisor at the state Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission, died on September 6, 2026 at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, where she had lived since 2007. She was 81.
She was born in Chelsea on August 2, 1945 to Patrick and Mary M. (McBride) Gandolfo. Her mother was Irish and learned Italian cooking after marrying her father; Patricia inherited the ravioli, the lasagna and the pots of gravy sized for an army, along with an Easter lamb cake that her family agrees usually looked more like a dog. She shopped with coupons and a strategy, made Black Friday a pre-dawn tradition, cruised to Bermuda with her husband, and kept an autographed Gerry Cheevers jersey in the dining room. After her son Sean died, she took in his pit bull mix, Ramsey, and the two became inseparable.
Her husband of 31 years, Jack N. Krueger, died in 2022. She leaves her son, Billy McGarry and his wife Denise of North Reading; her daughter, Maureen Drossos and her husband Mark of Burlington; her grandchildren, Heather McGarry, Samantha McGarry and Alexis Drossos; her great-granddaughter, Ayva McClory; her sister, Rosemary Bajdek; and an adopted grandson, Caden. Her son Sean McGarry and her sister Alice Gandolfo died before her.
Visiting hours are Sunday, September 13 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Vertuccio Smith and Vazza Beechwood Home for Funerals, 262 Beach Street, Revere. The funeral leaves the funeral home Monday, September 14 at 9 a.m. for a 10 a.m. Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, 133 Beach Street, Revere, followed by burial at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. The family suggests donations to The Family Restored or to PAWS of Wakefield.
