Robert L. “Bob” Trentini, an Everett native who made his home in Revere for many years and spent 33 years underwriting surety bonds, died in the early hours of August 9, 2026. He was 82.
He was born on July 25, 1944 in Everett to Domenic and Concetta (Galante) Trentini. He served in the Army from 1970 to 1975 during the Vietnam War and was decorated for it. From 1977 until his retirement in 2010 he worked as a surety bond underwriter. He followed the Red Sox and Patriots, watched boxing, tinkered with computers, and cooked, often at three in the morning.
He and Gloria (Tecci) Trentini were married 49 years. They had no children of their own, and their nieces and nephews got an uncle who filled the role of a father. Besides his wife, he leaves his sister, Deanna Comeau, and many nieces and nephews. His sister Sarafina Milo died before him.
A funeral Mass was celebrated August 14 at St. Mary’s Parish, 670 Washington Avenue, Revere, with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. Arrangements were by the Buonfiglio Funeral Home. The family suggests donations to the Sean M. Healey and AMG Center for ALS at Massachusetts General Hospital.
