Karen Cipriano Reed of Revere, who kept working as an esthetician for more than 40 years through three decades of living with cancer, died October 20. She was 67.

She was born July 6, 1959, and graduated from Revere High School with the Class of 1977. Revere stayed at the center of her life for many years. She and her husband, Billy, were together for more than four decades and raised three sons.

Her family says she was the one who held everyone together. She was a gifted cook, and the dinners she put on brought the whole family to her table. She kept close to a circle of girlfriends she had known for most of her life. She liked to travel, loved music and dancing, and was a devoted Red Sox fan. Her family says she never let the illness decide how she lived, and she kept doing the work she loved until the end.

She leaves her husband, Billy; her sons, Billy, Derek and Zack; her daughters-in-law, Sherice, Stephanie and Lory; and her grandsons, Giovanni and Dante.

Her funeral Mass is Thursday, October 29, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 670 Washington Ave., Revere.
