Preparation is underway for the 3rd Annual Empty Bowls Fundraiser, which aims to benefit the Chelsea Hunger Network and raise awareness about hunger in Chelsea. The event showcases hand-painted bowls paired with hearty soup. Over recent months, volunteers have gathered at Chelsea High School, the Cronin Ice Rink, TND and the Boys and Girls Club to participate in a “bowl painting party.” Attendees at the fundraiser will receive a hand-painted bowl and a soup dinner. City Manager Jay Ash will return to host his annual backgammon competition. Advance tickets cost $15, while door tickets are $18. Children under 8 receive free admission. The fundraiser runs April 24 from 5-7 p.m. at the Williams School (180 Walnut). To purchase tickets, call (617) 884-3300.
