Chelsea Police Capt. Keith Houghton works the scene of a double stabbing of two Chelsea High School students
last Friday afternoon.
According to Chief Brian Kyes, the Chelsea Police Department is actively searching for at least one suspect involved in an aggravated assault that resulted in two victims suffering serious stab wounds on Friday, Sept. 23.
The incident occurred at approximately 2:25 p.m. near the railroad tracks in the vicinity of Everett Avenue and Maple Street, where a fight erupted. Officers from the Chelsea Police Department who were nearby quickly responded and found that at least one person had used a knife to stab two male victims. The two victims, both students at Chelsea High School, sustained serious stab wounds to the abdomen and were taken to a Boston hospital for treatment.
Police have described the suspect as a Hispanic male, approximately 20 years old, with spiked hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black jacket, blue pants, and Nike sneakers and was carrying a knife. According to Chelsea Police, there is reason to believe the suspect may have had accomplices.
The reason behind the attacks remains unclear, though investigators believe the suspect and victims may have known each other.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
