Faublas Etienne
Chef in USA and former Judge in Haiti
On Saturday morning, Oct. 6, Faublas Etienne died at his home in Revere, surrounded by family members. He had reached the age of 86.
Faublas was born in Saint-Michel-de-l’ Attalaye Gonaives, Haiti, to parents Gabelius Etienne and Elvira Pierre, both now deceased. In Haiti, he served as a judge before immigrating to the United States, where he pursued a career in culinary work. After spending several years as a chef in New York, he relocated to Massachusetts. For 28 years, he worked as a chef at the Sheraton Newton Hotel until his retirement in 2013.
For the past 16 years, Faublas made Revere his home and was an active member of the Haitian Missionary Church in Somerville, where he participated in men’s group activities and various church functions. His family and community will remember him fondly.
He is survived by his wife, Marie J. (Norvil) Etienne, and his children: Virginie Etienne Bois, Fournel Etienne, Faubert Etienne, Yola Etienne, Jeff Etienne, Kennel Etienne, Kenny Etienne, and Mirlande Cenat. Two children, Josette Etienne and Wesner Etienne, predeceased him. His siblings include Yolande Etienne of Florida and Marie Ange Etienne of Port au Prince, Haiti. He leaves behind 27 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held at the Haitian Missionary Church of Somerville, 100 Temple St., Somerville on Friday, Oct. 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service takes place Saturday at 10 a.m. at the same church, with one hour of visitation from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to the service. Following the service, interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. The Carafa Family Funeral Home in Chelsea is handling arrangements.

Susan Jean Pizzano
March 28, 1953 – September 24, 2018
Susan Jean (Perry) Pizzano of East Boston died unexpectedly on Sept. 24 at age 65.
Born in Lynn and raised in Saugus, Susan graduated from Saugus High School in 1971. She spent her career working in department stores and later drove school buses and taxis while working as a dispatcher for No. Shore Taxi Co., retiring in 2000. She had a deep love for animals.
Susan was married to Henry Pizzano III of East Boston and formerly of Chelsea for 39 years. Her parents, Paul L. and Inez (Puffer) Perry, and her sister Christine Collins are deceased. Surviving family members include her husband Henry, her sister Barbara Maw of Nashua, NH, her brothers Paul Perry of Loudon, NH and Robert Perry of Pennsylvania, and her brother-in-law Cliff Collins of Hinesburg, Vt. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and her beloved cat Lucy “Lulu.” Private funeral services were arranged by Anthony Memorial-Frank A. Welsh and Sons Funeral Home, Chelsea. In her memory, friends may make contributions to Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave, Salem, MA 01970.

Kathy Ann Dwyer
Of Chelsea
Kathy Ann Dwyer, 68, of Chelsea passed away peacefully on September 27, 2018, at the Everett Nursing Rehab and Nursing Center in Everett. She was preceded in death by her parents, David L. Dwyer and Hazel G. Dwyer, and by her brother David L. Dwyer, Jr. She leaves behind seven siblings: William and J. Barry of Chelsea, Robert of Pennsylvania, Richard of Boston, Linda of Georgetown, MA, Michael of Pennsylvania (her twin brother), and Jacqueline of Saugus, MA, along with many nieces and nephews.
Throughout her career, Kathy worked as a bookkeeper and at one point owned and operated her own dance studio in Chelsea. As a lifelong Chelsea resident, she developed deep friendships throughout the community. Her warm personality and generous spirit made her beloved by all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.
The family expresses gratitude for the excellent care Kathy received at the Everett Nursing Facility over the past several years, as well as the compassionate support provided by Compassionate Care Hospice during her final days. The Casper Funeral Home of Boston assisted with arrangements. Burial services will be held privately.
