A 24-year-old Chelsea resident has been arrested in connection with a shooting and stabbing that occurred at 16 Pleasant St. in the early hours of Saturday morning, according to Jake Wark, spokesman for the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office.
The suspect, Hector Emilio Hernandez, faces charges of attempted murder and unlawful possession of a firearm in relation to the alleged assault.
Revere police and emergency responders arrived at 16 Pleasant St. at approximately 1:45 a.m. Saturday, where they discovered a 27-year-old Chelsea man with apparent gunshot wounds and a 23-year-old Chelsea man with apparent stab wounds. Both victims were taken to hospitals for treatment. State Police detectives were notified and the Suffolk County State Police Detective Unit took over the investigation.
“The relationship between
the parties involved remains under investigation, as do the circumstances
surrounding the violent encounter,” Wark stated.
According to Wark, investigators continued their work through Saturday morning and afternoon, eventually determining that the suspect might be located near Calumet Street in Revere. Officers and troopers established surveillance in the area and spotted an individual matching the suspect’s description entering a residence on that street.
Upon approaching the residence, police observed the suspect emerge from a rear exit and attempt to scale a fence. He was quickly apprehended and taken into custody, then transported to the State Police Barracks in Revere for booking on charges of attempted murder and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Hernandez is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Chelsea District Court.
