Kenneth S. Foulds Sr., who raised his family in Chelsea and was known on the water as Captain Ken, died on August 1, 2026 at the Abbott Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where he had been cared for over the last two and a half years. He was 73.
He was born on September 10, 1952 in Winthrop and grew up in the Point of Pines section of Revere. He graduated from Revere High School and later settled in Chelsea, where he raised his two sons.
He worked as a sales representative in the plumbing supply business, and after retiring he kept working with customers at the Home Depot in Everett.
Sailing was the constant. He was an active member of the Chelsea Yacht Club and served as its past vice-commodore and as a board member. His sailboat was named the Glass Onion, and the crew he sailed with knew him as Captain Ken.
He was predeceased by his son Kenneth S. Foulds Jr. and his brother Donald P. Foulds. He is survived by his son Michael J. Foulds of Lynn, his granddaughter Alysha Foulds, two great-granddaughters, his brothers Stephen J. and Thomas H. Foulds, and several nieces and nephews.
