Juan Jose Dubon Valdivieso, 50, Commercial Painter Who Settled in Chelsea

Juan Jose Dubon Valdivieso, who came to Chelsea from Honduras and worked as a commercial painter, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. He was 50.

He was born on May 17, 1976 in Puerto Cortes, Honduras, the son of the late Jose Santos Dubon Castellanos and Soledad Margarita Valdivieso. He grew up in Puerto Cortes before coming to the United States, and Chelsea was where he first put down roots. He later moved to Lynn.

He worked as a skilled commercial painter. He followed soccer closely and supported Real Madrid.

He is survived by his companion Ligia Belisle and their son, John Carlos Dubon Belisle, both of Texas, and by two brothers who remain in Puerto Cortes.

Calling hours were held at the Welsh Funeral Home in Chelsea on September 4. He was then returned to Puerto Cortes for services and burial in the community where he grew up.
