Charles B. Rogers, who spent most of his 91 years between Everett and Chelsea and worked for the Everett cemetery department until his retirement, died on August 31, 2026 at Concord-Laconia Hospital in Laconia, New Hampshire. He had lived with his daughter in Laconia for the last two years.
He was born on July 2, 1935 and grew up in Everett, a son of John W. and Elsie I. (Betts) Rogers. He married Ruth E. (Thomas) Rogers, and the couple raised two daughters, Eldora and Lois. They were married 34 years before her death in 2010.
Mr. Rogers worked for the Everett Department of Public Works in its Cemetery Department and retired about 15 years ago. At home he liked a quiet evening with a word search book and a Red Sox game on.
Graveside inurnment services are today, Friday, September 11, at 11 a.m. at Glenwood Cemetery on Washington Avenue in Everett. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery gate at 10:30 a.m.
He leaves his daughters, Eldora Kitchen of Laconia, New Hampshire, and Lois Rogers-Ryan of Everett; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his sisters Doris Rogers, Barbara Tierney and Frances Adamo; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. His sisters Ellen Bryson, Mildred Griffin-Lyons and Thomasina Rogers died before him.
