During December, Metro Credit Union’s workforce engaged in volunteer efforts with multiple local charitable organizations focused on holiday assistance programs. Among those participating were Metro employees Dawn Gonsalves and Frank DeAngelis, who assembled donations from their colleagues destined for Toys for Tots. The credit union’s staff also joined the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle initiative, ringing bells at Metro’s Chelsea headquarters to gather funds that would support area seniors and struggling families. Additionally, Metro staff members contributed to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots campaign this season, amassing numerous unwrapped toys intended to brighten the holidays for children in the region. Through a partnership with People Helping People, a Burlington-based nonprofit, Metro employees further extended their generosity by sponsoring local households and procuring presents and retail and grocery store gift cards for families to celebrate the season. Robert M. Cashman, Metro’s President and CEO, expressed his appreciation, stating: “I am proud of our generous employees who give their time and resources in support of their local community organizations.” He added: “All year long our employees exemplify our commitment to giving back to the communities we serve.”
