Edrick L. “Ed” White of Everett, a chess player and jazz listener who watched wrestling with his wife and every Boston team with anyone, died at home on Sunday, August 23, 2026 after a long run of medical problems. He was 68.
He leaves his wife and life partner, Michelle Benko of Everett; his daughters, Tasha Moore of Pennsylvania and Ashyia Nichole Smith of Boston; his grandson, Ibrahim-Ali Smith; his stepdaughter Samantha Posata and her husband David Posata Sr., whose five children, Alex, Adrian, Alijah, Ayden and David Jr., knew him as Grampy Ed; and his stepchildren Rita, Luis and Joseph, all in the Boston area.
A funeral service was held September 3 at the Salvatore Rocco and Sons Funeral Home, 331 Main Street, Everett. The family suggests donations to the MSPCA in his memory.
