Elizabeth A. Symanski

Elizabeth A. (Harrington) Symanski of Revere, who worked the teller windows at Wonderland Greyhound Park for many years and was known there by half the city, died on September 8, 2026. She was 85.

Her husband, Chester F. Symanski, died before her. She leaves her children, Stephan Symanski of Annapolis, Maryland, Mary Simonelli of Revere, Michael Symanski of Revere, and Linda Newman and her husband Eric of Winthrop; her grandchildren, Alyssa Scenna and her husband Nicholas, Christina Symanski, Daniel Symanski and Jessica Simonelli; and her great-grandchildren, Angela, Nicholas and Serafina Scenna. To a good many other children on her street she was simply Nana down the street. Her daughter Susan Symanski and her grandson Thomas Ramsden died before her.

Visiting hours are Monday, September 14 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Vertuccio Smith and Vazza Beechwood Home for Funerals, 262 Beach Street, Revere. The funeral leaves the funeral home Tuesday, September 15 at 10:30 a.m. for an 11:30 a.m. Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, 133 Beach Street, Revere, followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. The family suggests donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
