The Chelsea Police Department’s Faith & Blue 2026 series ended Friday night, October 23, at Revival Chelsea, a church led by Pastor Elaine Mendes. Over the past three weeks, police visited a mosque and several churches around the city for worship, conversation and meals with residents.

At the final event, Captain Dave Rizzuto and City Manager Fidel Maltez spoke about community partnerships and trust between police and residents, the department said. Officers then served dinner to the people who came. “Although Faith & Blue 2026 has come to an end, the relationships we’ve strengthened and the bridges we’ve built will continue well beyond these events,” the department wrote.

Two days earlier, on Wednesday, October 21, officers, city officials and residents gathered at People’s African Methodist Episcopal Church, led by Pastor Sarah Smith, for a presentation, conversation and a meal.

Earlier stops were at Luz de Cristo, St. Luke’s and the Al Huda Society, and at Revive Community Church on October 16, where Pastor Diego Netto led a panel with Maltez and Captain Tom McLain.

Sergeant Chung performs at Chelsea District Court

Also this week, Sergeant Star Chung gave a spoken-word performance at Chelsea District Court’s Cultural Appreciation Signature Court Event. The theme was “Access and Justice: We Stand Together.” The department thanked the court and its probation department for organizing the event, which brought together court leaders, community partners and participants. Chung, who led a group of young visitors on a tour of the police station earlier this month, drew thanks online. “My students and I enjoyed it so much,” one attendee wrote under the department’s post.
