William Crowley

On June 18, William A. Crowley of Chelsea died at Whidden Memorial Hospital in Everett following a short illness. He had reached the age of 70.
A West End native, William was born to Robert and Mary (Connelly) Crowley. His education included St. Joseph Parochial School in the West End and Don Bosco High School in Boston. He served honorably in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam era, with his discharge coming in 1965.
For an extended period, William was employed as a telephone repairman by New England Tel and Tel. Previously residing in South Boston and East Boston, he had called Chelsea home for the past 10 years. Among his affiliations were membership in the Knights of Columbus, based in South Boston, and lifetime membership status with the Disabled American Veterans. He had a fondness for games of chance.
Surviving him are his siblings Carole Ciampa of East Boston, Eileen Morrill of Quincy, and Robert Crowley of Sagamore. He was also the cherished Godfather to Julie Perelli of Chelsea. His parents, Robert and Mary (Connelly) Crowley, predeceased him.
On Tuesday, June 25, a Funeral Mass took place at St. Michael the Archangel Chapel at Chelsea Soldiers Home. The service concluded with full Military Honors followed by interment at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. The Anthony Memorial and Frank A. Welsh and Sons Funeral Homes managed the arrangements.
