Santos Martinez
Of Chelsea, Formerly of Puerto Rico
At 92 years old, Santos Martinez of Chelsea passed away peacefully on July 21, surrounded by family. He had formerly lived in Aibonito, Puerto Rico.
Originally from Ceyay, Puerto Rico, where he was born and raised, Santos lived there before relocating to Chelsea 11 years ago.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margarita (Santos), and his son Angel Luis Martinez. His survivors include his devoted children: Miguel A. Martinez of Chelsea, Carmen G. Perez of Florida, Juana M. Martinez of Chelsea, and Victor M. Martinez of North Carolina. He had 11 grandchildren: Evaristo Soto, Maria Virgen, Javier Perez, Elizabeth Soto, Jenak Martinez, Liliana Perez, Maurice Perez, Janak Martinez, Victor Martinez, Carmen Martinez and Margie Martinez. His 15 great-grandchildren were Jocelyne Otero, Evaristo Soto, Jr., Chalen Vasquez, Joan Marie Vasquez, Kevin L. Otero, Christopher Soto, Evalis Soto, Jorge M. Soto, Carmen Perez, Kiara Perez, Celinet Zelaya, Ronny Zelaya, Victor Dubon, Taina Mejia and the late Madelyn Dubon. He was also a great-great-grandfather to Joanelly Elena Rivera, Wilberto DeJesus, Jeslize Otero, Youary Soto and Satty Soto.

Jane Tiernan McDonough
Of East Boston, Formerly of Chelsea
Jane Tiernan McDonough, formerly of Chelsea and most recently of East Boston, was 68 when she died on July 21.
She is survived by her husband, Walter, and her sister, Nancy of Provincetown. The late Sister Mary Alice was also her sister. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be held.

Dorothy MacDonald
Homemaker
At 72 years old, Dorothy M. (Casey) MacDonald of Malden died at home on July 22 with her family present. She had previously lived in Revere and Chelsea.
Her life centered on family as a homemaker. She was married to Francis MacDonald for 52 years and was the devoted mother of Doreen Cardosi and her husband, Lance of Maine, Karen Turco of Malden and Frank Jr. of Revere. Her siblings included James Casey of Malden, Lois DiPietro of Amesbury, Richard Casey and Thomas Casey. She had four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Her parents were the late Ida (Richard) Casey and Joseph Casey.
The Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home, 128 Revere St., Revere, held her funeral on Thursday, July 25 at 9:30 a.m., with a Funeral Mass following at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, Chelsea. Yolanda Quagenti
Retired Chelsea Superior Court Secretary/ Clerk-Typist
On July 20, Yolanda F. (Aucella) Quagenti, 94, died at Wingate at Andover following prolonged illness.
She grew up in Revere, attending its schools and graduating from Revere High School in 1937. Most of her life was spent there until 1999, when she moved to Chelsea. In 2010 she relocated to Andover.
For 15 years, Mrs. Quagenti worked as a clerk-typist for Chelsea Superior Court.
Her late husband was Henry J. Quagenti, Sr., who passed in April of 1979. She was the cherished mother of Henry J. Quagenti, Jr. and his wife, Joyce E. of Plaistow, NH, and devoted grandmother to Jeffrey J. Quagenti and his wife, Devon of Haverhill and Jessica A. Tyre and her husband, Jonathan of Kennebunk, Maine. Her siblings included Anthony E. Aucella, Jr. of Phoenix, Arizona and Rosemarie A. Crivello and her husband, Joseph of Baltimore, Maryland, as well as the late John, Matthew and Harold Aucella and Eleanor R. Fleming, Jean Gangi and Agnes Bousquet. Two great-granddaughters, Kayla J. and Novie G. Tyre, survive her, along with numerous faithful nieces, nephews, grand nephews and grand nieces.

Barbara Gagan
Lifelong Revere Resident
Barbara A. (O’Brien) Gagan, who lived in Revere her entire life, was surrounded by loved ones when she passed on July 19 at the Wilmington Health Care Center. She was 70 years old.
Born in Chelsea to the late John W. and Eleanor R. (Sannella) O’Brien, she attended Revere Public Schools and earned her diploma from Revere High School in 1960.
She was married to the late William Gagan and previously to Dennis Walters of Everett. Her beloved children are Robert J. Walters and his wife, Janet of Pelham, NH, Kelly A. Quinlan and her husband, Paul E. of Wilmington, and Patricia A. Viator and her wife, Carole of Revere. She is lovingly survived by three grandchildren: Ryan Walters of NH, Stephanie Quinlan and Cameron Quinlan, both of Wilmington.
Arrangements were made by the William R. Carafa & Son Home for Funerals, 389 Washington Ave. Chelsea. Burial took place in Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
