Anthony William “Hoots” Demasi of Everett, a property manager and a Boston sports fan who lived to needle his Yankee-fan brother, died at home on August 15, 2026. He was 58.
He was born on March 16, 1968 in East Boston and later made Everett his home. For more than 30 years he managed two apartment buildings in Everett owned by David Molle of Stoneham, whose family came to regard him as their own. He saw all four Boston teams win championships and never let his brother Joe forget the Red Sox part.
He leaves his brother, Joseph Demasi and his wife Catherine of Arvada, Colorado; his sister, Diana Susi, and her fiancé James Riley of Wakefield; his nieces and nephews Kerriann, Katelyne, Arthur and Joseph Jr.; and nine great-nieces and great-nephews. His father, Joseph William Demasi, died before him.
A family friend, Steven DeLuca, said it plainly: the world needs more Hootsies. Arrangements were by the Salvatore Rocco and Sons Funeral Home, 331 Main Street, Everett.
