Stephanie (Bentley) Laurano of Revere, who could take an empty room and make it a home and did the same with a stripped-down piece of furniture, died on September 9, 2026 with her family around her. She was 41.
Refinishing furniture was the craft she was known for, the one she turned into something she could share. Cooking was the other, and her family says a meal from her kitchen fixed most things. She told stories, got the room laughing with a single line, and was usually the one who started the dancing. Her family remembers a spitfire, a comforting sister and, in her husband’s words, his savior.
She leaves her husband, Richard Laurano III; her mother, Nancy Mottola, and Nancy’s husband Charles; her father, David Bentley Sr.; her brothers, David Bentley Jr. and Peter Bentley; and a wide circle of relatives and friends.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, September 19 at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Revere, followed by a celebration of her life at The Marina Restaurant and Bar at the Wharf in Revere. Arrangements are by the Paul Buonfiglio and Sons Funeral Home.
