CAUGHT AT THE BAR
Chelsea Officers were flagged down near Bellingham Square on April 8 at 9:10 p.m. by someone reporting an unarmed robbery. According to the victim, a male approached from behind, grabbed his phone, and fled the scene. The City video system captured the incident, and reviewing the footage allowed an officer to identify the suspect entering two local bars. When the officer went to Los Amigos, the second bar, he spotted a person matching the description and recovered the stolen phone from his pocket. An arrest was made at the scene.
Oscar Hernandez, 37, of 90 Grove St., was charged with unarmed robbery.
DRINKING AT THE GYM
Officers responded to the Dollar Tree at 1090 Revere Beach Parkway on April 10 at 6:16 p.m. after receiving a report of an intoxicated person in the store. Multiple nearby businesses had also complained about the same individual drinking in the area. The officers located the male at Planet Fitness and took him into custody. He was carrying an open bottle of Vodka and was found to have a stolen phone from the CHA in Everett during the booking process. This led to an additional charge of receiving stolen property.
Ramon Pagan, 57, of 126 Maverick St., was charged with receiving stolen property under $1,200 and trespassing.
NO REEFER IN THE HOUSE, PLEASE
Officers were dispatched to 95 Orange St. on April 11 at 1:44 a.m. for a malicious destruction of property report. En route, they learned that a male had broken a screen door and left the area. The victim explained she knows the suspect and allows him in her home, but has a strict rule against marijuana smoking. Upon returning home, she found the house smelling of marijuana smoke. When she confronted him about leaving, he damaged the property and was subsequently located and arrested.
Justin McKelver, 28, of 95 Orange St., was charged with malicious destruction of property under $1,200.
TICKET TANTRUM
Officers responded to 474 Broadway on April 13 at 11:16 p.m. to assist another officer. The officer had just issued a parking ticket to a male who then became disorderly. The Somerville man was taken into custody.
Christian Garcia, 26, of Somerville, was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and common law violation.
