Deborah Grace Clark of Revere, who competed on national television in the early 1990s as Storm on American Gladiators, died on August 24, 2026. She was 61.
She was born on April 14, 1965 in Willimantic, Connecticut, and was an athlete before she was a performer: a most valuable player in basketball and soccer, an All-American in track and field, and a trainee with the U.S. Olympic team handball program at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado. It was there that she first watched American Gladiators and decided she belonged on it. She joined the show in 1991 as Storm and became one of its most popular competitors, with a standing joke that her favorite hobby was “beating people up.”
She considered raising her son the achievement that mattered most.
She leaves her son, Crayton Sterling Sutherland Clark; her brother, Steven Clark; her aunt, Brenda Butler, and cousins Ben Butler Jr., Ben Butler Sr., Aaron and Karin; her cousin Nicole Beckett-Lovin and Nicole’s children, James Colin and Annamarie. Her parents, Edwin Clark Sr. and Beverly Clark, and her brother Edwin Clark Jr. died before her.
Services were private. Arrangements were by the Paul Buonfiglio and Sons-Bruno Funeral Home in Revere.
